SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 13 August 2019 – As a tribute to Bollywood icon Sridevi, Madame Tussauds Singapore proclaims the launch of her one of a kind wax figure, crafted in memory of the legendary actress to coincide with what would have been her 56th birthday today.
Sridevi’s wax figure is the solely one of its kind in the world and distinctive addition to Madame Tussauds Singapore. Created posthumously, a crew of 20 knowledgeable artists worked closely with Sridevi’s family over the course of five months to replicate her pose, expressions, make-up and iconic outfit. “What made this project especially difficult and interesting was once the exercise of her outfit. Her crown, cuffs, earrings and dress brooch were 3D-printed and went through numerous exams to achieve the stage of detail needed. It used to be a pleasure to see everyone’s work come collectively and we seem to be ahead to unveiling the discern soon.”

The figure will be officially launched in early September by way of Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor, Indian film producer, and his two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. He says, “I am touched that Madame Tussauds is honouring my wife, Sridevi Kapoor, and her work with the aid of having her figure immortalised. I, along with my household will be a section of the occasion when the parent is unveiled in Madame Tussauds Singapore at the Ultimate Film Star Experience. We hope this showcase can be a location for each person to continue paying their tributes to her.”
Placed at a Mr India located in the Ultimate Film Star Experience (UFSE) area, the figure will be accompanied by a unique memorial wall where supporters of Sridevi can leave their texts of homage. Lucky fans will also be chosen from the social media pages of Madame Tussauds Singapore to join the event and witness the unveiling of the wax figure of the star along with the family.
