Travel Forward Theatre, in partnership with Amadeus, will welcome Jamel Chandoul, Amadeus’s senior vice president of retail for the Middle East and Africa, who will discuss how collaboration can help to rebuild the travel industry by using technology to provide travelers with a smoother and safer travel experience.

The discussion will focus on the main concerns of travelers, including health apps. It will be held on Monday, May 17th, from 13:30 to 14:30.

On Sunday, May 16th, a two-part discussion featuring Gavin Harris of travel marketplace Skyscanner and Kathryn Wallington of next-generation global distribution platform Travelport will kick off the four-day event.

On Sunday, May 16th, at 12:30 p.m., “The Application of Technology to Adapt to the New Reality” will begin. Later that day, David Debeule, director of Expedia Group’s Middle East and Africa lodging division, will discuss not just the benefits of listening to the global travel ecosystem, but also how these benefits can be translated into real-world action plans. This session will take place from 16:15 to 17:00 p.m.

A one-hour expert panel on “The Path Forward for Destination Marketing Organizations” will be held elsewhere. It will be led by Hans Clement of the Boston Consulting Group’s Dubai office and Iva Kutle Skrlec, a Google destination marketing expert.

They’ll present the results of a large-scale joint research study, as well as practical advice and takeaways on how to position their place for visitor return. On Monday, May 17th, at 16:30, the panel will begin.

Hotels are also represented across the three-day event. Jochem-Jan Sleiffer,
president for the Middle East, Africa & Turkey operations of Hilton, is part of a
hospitality panel talking about how data and technology can support personalised
trips and memorable experiences. His session starts at 10:30 on Wednesday 19
May.

“The return of live events for the global travel industry is welcomed by all of us.
“The line-up we’ve assembled for Travel Forward at ATM Dubai proves that senior
execs from across the travel tech ecosystem are willing to travel and share their
insights and expertise on how best to approach the first wave of post-pandemic
travellers.”

Simon Press – Exhibition Director at Travel Forward said:

“Travel technology is integral to our hybrid format this year. The use of technology is
accelerating across all industry sectors, none more so than the travel sector. With
expert insight, it will be fascinating to find out just what the ‘new normal’ will look like,
the role technology will play and how industry players and consumers will adapt.”

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market, said:

ATM 2021 will take place in nine halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre. There will be 11,000 people in the halls at any given time, in accordance with existing density constraints and social distancing standards and rules.

The topic of this year’s show is “A new dawn for travel and tourism,” and the focus will be on the most recent “COVID” news from across the world, including vaccine rollouts, the present state of the industry, and, most importantly, what the future holds.

Arabian Travel Week, a 10-day festival of travel and tourism events taking place in Dubai and online, will feature the event once again.

From arrival to departure, Dubai is one of the safest places in the world to visit, with a variety of preventative measures in place to protect the safety of tourists at every stage and touchpoint of their journey. The World Travel and Tourism Council also gave it a ‘Safe Travels’ stamp (WTTC).

In the UAE, over 11.1 million doses have already been provided, which is a significant achievement.

Dubai Tourism’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), Emaar Hospitality Group’s Official Hotel Partner, Emirates’ Official Airline Partner, and The Vision’s Official Destination Management Partner are among ATM 2021’s strategic partners.
