If you don’t know what to wear and keep for yourself in Shimla here is a checklist.

Warm Clothing Checklist:

Shimla sees snowfall in December and January, making it a winter wonderland. So while travelling to Shimla in winters I understood that you have to do a clothing checklist:

1. Base Layer: Base layer as in the name it is the layer you wear very inside to your body. It’s called thermals with T-shirt, which you can find on amazon or even try decathlon for some cosy ones. Try to buy one which is warm, lightweight and thin material. So, let’s say if you’re going for 6 days, buy 2 of those.

2. Mid Layer: Mid Layer is the most important one, here you’ll have a huge amount of choices to make. Choosing from brands to colours to materials etc and the list goes on. We can call it Fleece, sweat-shirts, sweaters. It’s for covering your base and protect you from little chilly weather in the afternoon.

I would recommend you try Decathlon’s Fleece section. They have great colours, sizes and design style. I’m sure you’ll take at least 3 with a decent price tag. Change and wear every day, I’m sure you won’t like to shower like me.

3. Top Layer: Top Layer is your Jacket. Nothing above, nothing below. This is the most important one, even if you’ve chosen Base and Mid less. This will protect you from everything. I will repeat that you should not be going after the price tag and be able to choose the best jacket in your size instead.

Conclusion

At this point, when slope extracts and summer journey was being built up by an English in frontier India. Shimla was the official summer capital of English India.

Shimla at an elevation of 2,205 meters offered a lot of looked for after the break from searing fields. With a colonial history still visible in the lush pine and oak backwoods.

The rich history and natural quality make it an occasional popular topic even today.
