THE CURTAIN RAISES FOR KERALA LITERATURE FESTIVAL 2023

Kerala Literature Festival, which receives more than 3 lakh visitors overall, combines the best elements of popular and literary culture.

The Kerala Literature Festival (KLF), one of Asia’s largest literary events, is currently accepting registrations for attendees. From January 12 to January 15 of 2023, Kozhikode Beach will host the four-day festival.

The festival is supported by the Keralan government and promoted by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation. The festival’s director is K. Sachidanandan, a well-known poet and critic.

KLF is a major event on the region’s tourist calendar, drawing visitors from all over India and beyond. Over the course of the four-day event, KLF is anticipated to host the best authors and speakers in the world.

Vasco da Gama first set foot in Kozhikode in 1498, and ever since, it has been referred to as the world’s spice capital.

The city, which is renowned for the variety of flavours it offers, is also referred to as the food capital of South India. With 17 communities from all over India settled there centuries ago for trade and economic activities, it boasts cultural diversity.

The subcontinent’s literary festivals bring together people from various backgrounds and interests by bringing writers, artists, actors, celebrities, thinkers, and activists together.

Invitees from Turkey, Spain, the USA, Britain, Israel, New Zealand, the Middle East, the Far East, and other regions of the world are all present at the event.

With more than 400 speakers, the sixth edition is expected to be spectacular. Among them are well-known author Jeffrey Archer, Nobel laureates Abhijit Banerjee, Ada Yonath, Arundhati Roy, Orhan Pamuk, Francesc Miralles, Geethanjali Shri, Wendy Doniger, Ramachandra Guha, Palanivel Thiagarajan, Sanjeev Sanyal, Piyush Pandey, Shashi Tharoor

The sessions at KLF aim to map literature through discussions on aspects of science and technology, art, cinema, politics, music, environment, literature, pandemic & its impacts, business & entrepreneurship, health, art & leisure, travel & tourism, gender, economy, culture genomics, history & politics, and various elements that influence human consciousness.

The festival’s entertainment will include evening fireside discussions, musical performances, and performances by classical, theatrical, and performing artists. KLF 2023 is a highly anticipated event in the State and throughout the nation due to the diverse mix of literary & cultural luminaries and an even spread of celebrity quotient under the same roof at the beach of Kozhikode.
