International Artists Gather in Moscow for “Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030” Festival

Moscow is currently hosting the “Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030” festival-forum, a large-scale event celebrating urban development and innovation. Running from August 1 to September 8, 2024, the festival features a diverse array of activities, including the “Big Cities in Moscow” photo exhibition and the WOWMOSCOW video art contest, both highlighting international artistic talent.

The “Big Cities in Moscow” photo exhibition, set to open on August 8, will showcase works by 14 renowned photographers from BRICS countries, including Tom Lisboa, Liu Xiaoxia, and Letitia Lampert. Their works will be displayed across various iconic Moscow locations such as Zaryadye Park, Arbat Street, and VDNKh. Irina Chmyreva, the art director of the PhotoVisa International Festival of Photography, curates the event.

The WOWMOSCOW video art contest brings together 10 promising filmmakers from India, China, Indonesia, Brazil, and Russia. These finalists, chosen from 294 participants, will compete for the opportunity to create a short film about Moscow. The winner will be announced on August 15, with the film screening scheduled for August 24 at Zaryadye Park.

“Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030” spans 39 days, with events spread across 30 venues, including Luzhniki, Expocentre, and Skolkovo. The festival promises a comprehensive exploration of urbanism, showcasing Moscow’s innovations in transportation, healthcare, education, and creative industries, and is set to be a major attraction for residents and visitors alike.
