JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar known to introduce innovative Food and Beverage concepts and setting culinary benchmarks are all set to recreate the iconic “Silk Road” offering guests an exclusive gastronomical experience with ancient and contemporary delicacies from Guangzhou, Sichuan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Istanbul and Venice.

The Silk Road was a historic trade route that dated from the second century B.C. until the 14th century A.D. and stretched right from Asia to the Mediterranean, traversing China, India, Persia, Arabia, Greece, ended in Italy and facilitated heavy trade.

As an ode to the Silk Road from March 6th to 14th, 2020, JW Cafe brings together four culinary maestros each specializing in the cuisine from the Silk Route trade regions. The menu will showcase classic and ancient recipes providing guests with the opportunity to experience the authenticity of this historic trade route.

Chef Roberto Zorzoli, Head Chef Romanos, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar will be showcasing ancient Roman cuisine, home-style cooking techniques, vintage family recipes and nostalgia come together to create distinct and unique flavours with every dish.

 Chef Cagatay Bahadur from JW Marriott Ankara will showcase classic Turkish dishes and will be hand carrying spices from Ankara, guests will savour sweets and dumplings like Kurv Manti, Katmer, Lokma, Kurv Patlican.

Chef Xian Bin Li of The St. Regis Mumbai will showcase his rich culinary experience from Schiuan and Guangzhou regions, using age-old recipes and fresh ingredients. He offers guests a hint of familiar infused with a delightful new world of undiscovered tastes and textures.

 Chef Abdul Quddus of JW Marriott Juhu will bring to guests the traditional cuisine and recipes of the Bukhara region. The cuisine is rich in meats, with a signature main course Palov (plov or osh or”pilaf”) typically made with rice, pieces of meat, grated carrots and onions are usually cooked in a Kazan (or deghi) over an open fire.
