Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge), spoke virtually today at an event hosted by the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) in Gwalior to commemorate World Environment Day.

Shri Patel virtually inaugurated the IITTM’s newly renovated website in 108 national and international languages, the Incredible India Tourist Facilitator Certification (IITFC) communication seminar, the Aqua based Adventure Tourism ATLAS, and the planting of saplings on this occasion.

Shri Arvind Singh, Secretary Tourism, Government of India; Shri Rakesh Verma, Joint Secretary; Smt. Rupinder Brar, ADG Tourism; and Shri Gyan Bhushan, Economic Advisor to the Ministry of Tourism, were all virtually present at the event.

Shri Patel, the Minister of Tourism, expressed his gratitude for the Incredible India Tourist Facilitator Certification (IITFC) program and wished the participants well.

Shri Patel also praised IITTM for its new website, which is now available in a variety of languages. Shri Patel stated that the environment is our most valuable resource and urged everyone to plant as many trees as possible.

In addition, it is our responsibility to protect the health of our environment so that we can live a healthy life. The Minister went on to say that it is our responsibility to protect the environment for future generations.

Shri Arvind Singh, Secretary Tourism, praised IITTM’s contribution to the tourism industry and expressed optimism that the industry will rebound after the current pandemic wave has passed.

The current batch of the Incredible India Tourist Facilitator Certification (IITFC) program has 2230 participants, with a total of 7546 people registered for the program. Each batch of 25 participants will train for 4 hours per day for 7 days. Participants will receive certificates following the evaluation.
