The CSMIA has followed all of the government’s rules in order to protect the passengers’ safety and well-being.

Between October 13 and October 20, the resumption of flight operations at CSMIA’s Terminal 1 (T1) saw 94,716 passengers, with 46,187 passengers arriving and 48,529 passengers departing. In addition, 730 flights were performed over the course of one week, with Go First, Star Air, Air Asia India, and TruJet among them.

T1 had passenger traffic on 57,382 weekdays and 37,334 weekends in the first week after commencing operations. The biggest passenger traffic came from New Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru, with 19 percent, 29 percent, and 20 percent respectively from T1 during the week.

Furthermore, as the number of passengers preferring to travel by air continues to rise, and the Christmas season approaches, CSMIA will see an increase of IndiGo flights flying out of T1 from October 31st, with subset series 6E 5200 to 6E 5399 (as of date), to further smooth passenger movement.

On the 17th of October 2021, CSMIA managed a record passenger movement of 91,904 passengers passing through the airport in a single day. CSMIA, one of the world’s busiest single crossover runway airports, saw the highest movement in about one and a half years, since March 23, 2020. The CSMIA saw a total of 75,944 domestic and international passengers passing through Terminal 2 (T2), with 37,315 arriving and 38,629 departing.

While over 15,960 travellers passed through Terminal 1 (T1), with 7,690 passengers departing and 8,270 entering. On this day, CSMIA’s Terminal 1 handled 114 domestic flights, while Terminal 2 handled 494 flights, 415 of which were domestic and 79 of which were foreign.
