Tokyo Skytree Christmas 2026: 400,000 Lights and Festive Attractions

Tokyo Skytree Christmas 2026 will feature 400,000 illuminations, festive markets, Candlelight concerts and seasonal attractions from 5 November to 25 December.

Tokyo Skytree Christmas 2026 will bring festive celebrations to Tokyo from 5 November to 25 December, with seasonal illuminations, live music, Christmas-inspired treats and special attractions. The celebrations will span the observation deck, 350 metres above the city, and the surrounding TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN®, offering visitors a festive way to experience one of Japan’s most recognisable landmarks.

At the heart of the celebrations is the TOKYO SKYTREE observation deck, where Christmas decorations and specially created photo spots will complement sweeping views of the city. On 24 and 25 December, the deck will host its first Candlelight classical music concerts, organised by Fever. Set against Tokyo’s evening skyline and illuminated by the warm glow of candles, the live performances will take place at 6 pm and 8 pm on both days, with each concert lasting 30 minutes. The concerts are included at no additional charge with a valid observation deck admission ticket.

The observation deck will also present two short Christmas-themed stories through SKYTREE ROUND THEATER®, using its expansive windows as panoramic projection screens. Adding to the seasonal experience, SKYTREE CAFE on the 350-metre deck will introduce limited-edition treats, including a white strawberry latte and a matcha ice-cream dessert shaped like a Christmas tree. Festive mascot appearances and special photo opportunities will provide additional experiences for visitors.

Across the surrounding TOKYO SKYTREETOWN complex, the celebrations will follow this year’s theme, “Wish Upon a Star”. Approximately 400,000 lights in warm golden hues will illuminate the area, centred around an eight-metre-tall Christmas tree inspired by the stars. Visitors can walk through a glowing installation designed to evoke shooting stars and take part in an interactive ornament experience by sharing their Christmas wishes. The illuminations will be on display from 4 pm to 11 pm during the festive period.

The Christmas market, now in its eleventh year, will return to the fourth-floor Sky Arena with a setting inspired by the pages of a storybook. European-style wooden stalls, seasonal decorations and festive food offerings will create a charming setting for visitors. Among the highlights will be Santa- and snowman-themed treats and an approximately four-metre-long traditional Christmas stollen. The market will be open daily from 11 am to 10 pm, with last orders at 9 pm, from 5 November to 25 December.

The tower itself will add to the celebrations with three special exterior lighting designs inspired by decorated Christmas trees and Santa Claus, illuminating the Tokyo skyline on selected evenings.

Beyond the tower, visitors can discover further seasonal experiences across TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN®. The planetarium will introduce a Christmas-themed welcome experience from 12 November to 25 December, while the aquarium will feature a distinctive Christmas tree decorated with 1,111 plush garden eels from 7 November to 28 December. Together with the complex’s shopping and dining offerings, these experiences provide plenty of reasons for families, couples and groups of friends to spend time at the landmark during the festive season.

Dream Christmas 2026 will take place from 5 November to 25 December 2026. Event schedules, lighting displays and individual experiences are subject to change. Visitors are encouraged to check the official TOKYO SKYTREE website for the latest details before planning their visit.
