[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ew Delhi: World Tourism Day stands as a unique opportunity to raise awareness about a country’s tourism potential. Maintaining the true spirit and intent of this day, Delhi Tourism ensured the inclusion of all; special sightseeing tours were arranged for differently abled children and senior citizens by the tourism division. The tour included main spots like India Gate, Birla Mandir, Humayun’s Tomb, Coffee Home and Gandhi Smriti.
Delhi Tourismnew2Celebrating the day in its full swing, Delhi Tourism had also organized special cultural programmes/band performances across all its Dilli Haats and the Garden of Five Senses offering free entry for senior citizens and children. Since travellers today wish to spend their time differently to the way they did in the past, seeking out experiences rather than just places, Delhi Tourism also keeps reinventing its offerings. Therefore, all the visitors at Delhi Tourism’s properties were given a cultural welcome to celebrate the day and bring them closer to a local experience.
To showcase Delhi’s distinctiveness as a travel destination, Dept. of Delhi Archives, Govt of Delhi, brought together some of Delhi’s best-hidden secrets from their collection for an exhibition,‘Heritage City- Delhi’, across all Dilli Haats. The exhibition will be on display till 10thOctober, 2018.
