Tourism Authority of Thailand Celebrates a Landmark Achievement of 2 Million Indian Arrivals

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is thrilled to announce a historic milestone as Indian arrivals to Thailand surpass 2 million for the first time. This landmark achievement underscores the deep and growing ties between Thailand and India, cementing Thailand as one of the most popular international destinations for Indian travellers. In 2019 the figure was 19, 95,516 almost touching the 2 M milestone. However, post covid there was a tremendous decline and the numbers increased gradually.

A Testimony to the Thailand-India Connection

Indian tourists have long been captivated by Thailand’s vibrant culture, pristine beaches, delectable cuisine, world-class hospitality, and diverse experiences. This achievement reflects the strong travel preferences of Indian tourists for Thailand’s destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi, and Chiang Mai, as well as new emerging cities like Chiang Rai, Chanthaburi, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, and experiences catering to diverse interests, including weddings, honeymoons, adventure, and wellness.

“This milestone is a proud moment for Thailand and a testament to the trust and love Indian travellers have for our country,” said Thapanee Kiatphaibool Governor of TAT. “We are honoured to be the destination of choice for millions of Indians, and we remain committed to offering them exceptional travel experiences, tailored to their needs and aspirations.

”In the coming year the northern part like Chiang Mai and Chian Rai will be focused for inviting Indian travellers. Also in the coming year Musical concerts in collaboration with Indian musicians will be the highlight of 2025. ‘ says Jakkaphon Tangsutthitham, Vice Minister for Tourism and Sports.
