The Airports Authority of India, as part of its ongoing effort to upgrade airport infrastructure in the country, has developed the Kushinagar Airport with a new terminal building covering 3600 square meters at a cost of Rs 260 crore in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, taking into account the demand for domestic and international visitors as well as pilgrimage.

It will provide jobs for locals by opening up a plethora of feeder transportation services, local guide jobs, and other opportunities.
