Polo Hotels & Resorts Expands Northeast Footprint with Signing of New Property in Aizawl, Mizoram

Marking Polo Hotels & Resorts’ entry into Mizoram, the landmark signing paves the way for the state’s first 5-star hotel under a Public-Private Partnership model.

Polo Hotels & Resorts, the Northeast’s largest homegrown hospitality company, has announced the signing of Polo Hotel Aizawl, its first property in Mizoram, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to expanding premium hospitality across Northeast India.

The signing follows the execution of a Concession Agreement with the Government of Mizoram for the redevelopment of the Chaltlang Tourist Lodge into a premium hotel under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The project represents a significant milestone for both the state and the hospitality group, bringing world-class hospitality infrastructure to a destination poised for rapid tourism growth.

Slated to be Mizoram’s first 5-star hotel, the property will feature an all-day diner, a speciality restaurant, a lounge, and an upbeat pool area. The hotel will also offer the largest versatile event spaces in the city, including banqueting halls and multiple meeting rooms, along with a state-of-the-art fitness centre and swimming pool.

The project further strengthens Polo Hotels Group’s leadership in the Northeast hospitality sector. With this signing, the Group’s portfolio expands to 16 hotels, including seven properties under development, with a growing presence across Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
