On October 28, 2021, the India Pavilion, one of the major pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai, reached a milestone of 150,000 visits, making it one of the most visited pavilions at the Expo.

Since its opening on October 1, the India Pavilion has attracted 151,360 visitors. With Diwali approaching, the India Pavilion is preparing to provide a variety of cultural and musical acts to amuse guests beginning November 2nd. The Indian Pavilion will also feature digital installations in AI and VR to mesmerize the audience, bolstering India’s image as a technological leader.

Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General of India in Dubai & Deputy Commissioner General for India at Expo 2020 Dubai said, “We are elated to cross this milestone at the Indian Pavilion in such a short period of time and are expecting to achieve even bigger numbers as we progress. We look forward to celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights with great zeal to ensure that the visitors at the Expo 2020 Dubai get to experience the festival.”

The Pavilion has held a number of growth-related events that have shown the ‘New India’ to the globe and opened up a channel of investment opportunities and ideas exchange with the rest of the world. Various corporate delegates and international representatives attended the seminars, bolstering the number. During the Dussehra and Navratri festivals, the India Pavilion hosted a variety of cultural activities. Folk dances, storytelling, and music were performed for a large number of tourists and dignitaries.

With colorful installations and lighting in the form of Swarangoli or LED Rangoli, a virtual display of firecrackers, and events featuring performances by leading Indian artists such as Salim-Sulaiman, Vipul Mehta, and bands such as Rooh and Dhruv, the upcoming Diwali week will make India Pavilion an appealing destination.

The India Pavilion is a four-story structure with each level dedicated to showcasing India’s achievements in various sectors and states. India’s dynamic culture, as well as the numerous cooperation prospects and growing popularity of Indian festivals, food, and cultural acts, has drawn people from all over the world. In addition, the presence of a strong Indian diaspora in the GCC countries has aided in the increase in footfall.
