Martin Zarybnicky has been named general manager of the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel effective January 2023, according to Minor Hotels (MH), a hotel owner, operator, and investor with a portfolio of 530 hotels and resorts in 56 countries throughout Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Indian Ocean.
“As Thailand’s tourism rebounds we couldn’t have asked for a more experienced addition to our flagship property,” said Area General Manager, Mark O’Sullivan. “With its prestigious location in the heart of the city, Anantara Siam Bangkok is known for delivering authentic, indigenous luxury and we look forward to Martin working alongside the team to further strengthen the property’s positioning as the ultimate leisure, MICE and dining destination in the kingdom’s capital.”
Zarybnicky previously served as Complex General Manager for InterContinental Bangkok and Holiday Inn Bangkok, where he focused on IHG’s flagship masterplan renovation, repositioned the hotel and F&B destination bars and restaurants, and mentored the next generation of hospitality leaders. He now serves as General Manager of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
The Czech citizen started working in the hotel industry in 1994, and during the next nearly three decades, he gained a comprehensive understanding of the European and Middle Eastern industries. Martin began working as a hotel manager at the Hilton Waterfalls Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in 2006. He moved to Russia the next year to take a position as hotel operations manager at the Holiday Inn Sokolniki. After that, he had a number of general manager positions for IHG in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
