New “Transform PHL” campaign educates guests on improvement projects at Philadelphia International Airport and Northeast Philadelphia Airport

Good things are happening at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE). As an extension of its brand refresh launched last year, the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation has kicked off a new “Transform PHL” and “Transform PNE” campaign to let everyone know the status of its capital development improvement projects.

“We’re inviting travellers to be part of our transformation journey. Guests and employees can learn more and see results like new restrooms, furnishings and exit lanes,” said Department of Aviation Chief Development Officer Api Appulingam. “We’re also showcasing the work that is taking place on the airfield and in non-public areas that increase operations and promote energy efficiency —projects passengers won’t be able to see or feel—but are necessary for improving PHL and PNE for everyone. These include projects taking place to welcome our guests not only for the activities of 2026, but for years to come.”

The new PHL.org/transform website highlights how every project is helping create a more enjoyable experience for passengers and employees and redefining what it means to travel through Philadelphia.

The website groups projects across the terminals, airfield and information technology by distinct colours and icons to create clear information. The public can use the website to learn about a project’s scope, estimated timeline and how the completed project will enhance the airport experience.

PHL.org/transform web page will also feature videos with members of the project teams, airport staff and guests discussing the importance of the projects from their unique perspectives.
