Shri G Kishan Reddy, lovingly known as “Kishananna,” is a living example of what can be accomplished through pure willpower and hard effort.
Shri G Kishan Reddy, the Union Culture Minister, took charge today at Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi. At the same time, Shri Ajay Bhatt was appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism. Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, the other new Minister of State for Tourism, was also in attendance.
Sh Kishan Reddy has also been appointed Union Minister of Culture and Development for the North-Eastern Region. Previously, he served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Sh. Reddy told the media that the Ministry will seek to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “New India” by investing in strengthening our cultural roots and encouraging tourism.
In 2019, Shri G Kishan Reddy was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from the Secunderabad Constituency in Telangana.
Sh Reddy has pioneered various innovative initiatives, such as his work for children with heart disease, which grew into a movement and earned him the UNICEF Best Child-Friendly Legislator Award in the AP Legislative Assembly (United Nations).
He also launched an anti-terrorist campaign and hosted the International Youth Conference against Terrorism (IYCT) in New Delhi, which drew 193 representatives from 54 nations. In addition, he organised the “Seema Suraksha JagaranYatra” and the “Telangana PoruYatra.”
Sh Reddy was also awarded the Outstanding Youth Leadership Award for the year 2009 by the Maryland India Business Round Table (MIBRT) in the United States, as well as a medal by the Union of Bulgarian Commandos in Sophia, Bulgaria, for his contribution to global peace.
He has travelled extensively across the world, including visits to the United States, Israel, China, Nepal, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Morocco, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Singapore, Egypt, Thailand, and Hong Kong, to promote India and its young leaders in various fora.
Shri Ajay Bhatt is an advocate by profession and has served on a number of key national bodies. He was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from the Nainital Udhamsingh Nagar Constituency in Uttarakhand. He has travelled extensively and is passionate about social and cultural activities.
