FAITH, the policy federation of all national associations representing India’s entire tourism, travel, and hospitality industry (ADTOI, ATOAI, FHRAI, HAI, IATO, ICPB, IHHA, ITTA, TAAI, TAFI) and cause partner AIRDA, wants all tourism, travel, and hospitality employees to be declared as COVID warriors and they get vaccinated, regardless of age.
The peak holiday season for domestic travel in India is set to begin in 2021, with more than 60% of domestic tourism business expected to be produced. In a few months, we’ll also be entering the peak season for inbound travel, which traditionally accounts for more than 70% of the tourism industry.
FAITH has demanded that a policy be implemented that dedicates all tourism, travel, and hospitality workers in India as frontline Covid warriors and allows them to be vaccinated at all sites of tourism, travel, and hospitality firms, regardless of their age requirements.
This will send a clear message to tourists that Indian tourism is ready to welcome them in a healthy and responsible manner. This could also serve as the pillar of Indian Tourism’s tactical communication strategy, providing a significant competitive advantage and primary selling point for all segments.
FAITH has demanded that this be brought up with the PMO and the Ministry of Health and that all state governments be advised accordingly.
