Madhya Pradesh Tourism promotion to continue post Festival dates
Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, announced the dates of the upcoming Mandu Festival at a press conference today. Mandu has been included in UNESCO’s tentative list of world heritage sites.
Mandu, a charming ancient city, is gearing up for the Mandu Festival, which will take place from December 30, 2021, to January 3, 2022. The Madhya Pradesh government’s five-day festival, produced by E-Factor Entertainment, is set to highlight Mandu’s historical significance.
Mandu is noted for its legacy, culture, architecture, and paleontological past. It is a bustling city exuding an old-world charm.
With guided historical walks, interactive bicycle tours, traditional folk arts, photo contests, yoga at Ek Khamba Mahal, culinary delights, art and craft, musical soirees, and much more, the Festival will showcase Mandu like never before.
Hot air balloon rides will provide an exhilarating way to see the town’s forts and ruins, while the nighttime Maa Narmada Aarti at the Rewa Kund will lend soul to the festivities.
Morning yoga, cycling tours, heritage walks, and an Instagram tour are all available to visitors to Mandu. Rural tourism excursions will acquaint visitors with the city’s many historical landmarks. The experience of stargazing over coffee in Dinosaur Park is also included.
Speaking about the festival’s 3rdedition,Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, said,“Mandu is a historic town, which is fast becoming prominent in the heritage tourist map of India. Localised Festivals in Madhya Pradesh are not just about showcasing the state but also generating employment and earning opportunities for locals. While during the Festival, one can have a curated trip of the town, Mandu Festival is one of the aspects of familiarising people with the history and culture of rural Madhya Pradesh. This endeavour will also help in realizing the dream of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh by creating new employment opportunities.”He added,“To continue boosting tourism for Mandu, we have taken several continuity steps so that people can avail of various facilities for almost through the year.”
Madhya Pradesh Tourism and E-Factor Entertainment will continue to offer Heritage Walks, Cycling Tours, Rural Experiences, and Story Telling Sessions till June 2022 in order to keep the tourist fervour alive. 25 luxury tents for accommodation will be available until the end of February 2022, adding to the experience.

The state government and the MP Tourism Board have undertaken a variety of measures to promote tourism in Madhya Pradesh as part of their ongoing efforts to promote the state’s natural beauty. Mandu, which is adjacent to Indore, has a distinct culture and heritage. Lakes, forts, and indigenous tribes abound in this region.
