Arabian Travel Market changes 2022 dates to accommodate new UAE working week

• Arabian Travel Market TM 2022 will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 May

• New timings coincide with Arabian Travel Week

• Monday opening will strengthen alignment with international markets

The organiser of Arabian Travel Market (ATM), Reed Exhibitions (RX), has announced that the four-day event will now take place on Monday, May 9th, 2022, and finish on Thursday, May 12th, 2022, to coincide with the UAE’s new Monday-to-Friday working week.

The event will be held in the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), and the new dates are likely to appeal to foreign markets, the bulk of which operate on a Monday-to-Friday schedule.

UAE business atmosphere is unquestionably good, supporting ATM’s position. According to a survey done by management consulting company Mercer, 84 per cent of private sector enterprises supported the effort, with 37 per cent saying they would take a long-term flexible approach, especially those with close commercial ties to other Gulf nations.

ATM 2022, currently in its 29th year, will offer a diverse range of show highlights in conjunction with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Economy (DTE) – previously known as the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME – Arabian Travel Market, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the global travel and tourism community to the UAE on Monday 9 May 2022. Made possible by the UAE’s forward-thinking decision to transition to a 4.5- day, Monday-to-Friday workweek, we are confident ATM 2022’s updated timings will benefit both exhibitors and attendees by offering improved alignment with international markets.”

The foremost worldwide event for travel technology, Travel Forward, will focus on next-generation tourism and hospitality technologies. Throughout the four days of the expo, there will be ATM buyer forums and speed networking activities.

Both the ARIVALDubai@ATM forum and the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) will be live in Dubai for the first time this year, after their remote participation in ATM 2021.

The exclusive ARIVALDubai@ATM session will focus on developing business through marketing, technology, distribution, thought leadership, and executive-level contacts, and will address current and future trends for tour operators and attractions.

The GBTA, the world’s leading business travel and meetings trade association, will provide the most up-to-date business travel information, research, and education to assist the industry’s continuous recovery and expansion.

Through exhibitions, conferences, breakfast briefings, awards, product launches, and networking events, ATM will play a key role in the Arabian Travel Week (9-19 May), a festival of events dedicated to enabling travel professionals from all over the world to collaborate and shape the recovery of the Middle East travel industry.

With continuously low case rates and comprehensive steps to safeguard visitors’ safety at every stage of their stay, from arrival to departure, the UAE remains one of the most Covid-secure nations on the globe. Dubai, like its neighbouring emirates, is dedicated to upholding the greatest standards of hygiene and safety. The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has given the city a & Safe Travel & mark in recognition of its pandemic preparedness.
