Visit Qatar recently concluded a MICE familiarisation trip for a group of Indian buyers, offering participants first-hand exposure to Qatar’s business events infrastructure, hospitality and diverse destination experiences.
Held from 1 to 4 October 2026, the trip brought together 9 MICE agents from India. With India among Qatar’s priority MICE source markets, the programme was designed to give Indian MICE professionals a closer understanding of Qatar as a destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and corporate events, while creating opportunities to engage with local industry partners.
During their stay, participants took part in a series of destination experiences, venue inspections and business-focused engagements. Site visits included hospitality and event venues across Doha, showcasing a varied range of possibilities suitable for meetings, conferences, incentive travel and corporate programmes. The itinerary also offered an opportunity to explore Qatar’s varied event venues, hospitality offerings and facilities suited to different types of corporate programmes, from meetings and conferences to incentive groups.
Beyond the business events offering, the programme also introduced participants to Qatar’s cultural and leisure experiences, allowing them to experience the destination beyond the conference room. Experiences included a dhow cruise, a desert safari at the Inland Sea, and visits to the National Museum of Qatar, Souq Waqif and Katara Cultural Village, highlighting options that can complement corporate and incentive programmes.
As part of the tour, the delegation met with Visit Qatar’s MICE team to exchange market insights, understand the evolving requirements of the Indian MICE market and explore the support available for organisers considering Qatar for future programmes.
By combining destination discovery with business-focused engagements, the familiarisation trip enabled participants to gain valuable insights that can inform future recommendations to their corporate and incentive clients. The programme also aimed to strengthen relationships between the Indian MICE trade and Qatar’s tourism industry, generate qualified MICE leads and create opportunities for future business.
