Around 25 hotels from India and Nepal participate in a networking event focused on tourism promotion and closer industry cooperation
More than 100 travel agents and tour operators joined representatives of around 25 hotels at a Buddhist Circuit tourism roadshow held at Bihar Sadan, New Delhi, on 23 September. The gathering provided a platform for industry stakeholders to strengthen business ties and discuss ways to improve the travel experience across Buddhist destinations in India and Nepal.
Participants represented Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Patna, Vaishali and Kushinagar in India, as well as Lumbini and Kathmandu in Nepal. Discussions focused on closer coordination between hotels and travel companies, joint destination promotion, and better accommodation, transport and hospitality services for domestic and international visitors.
The roadshow enabled hoteliers and travel professionals to exchange operational insights, explore business opportunities and discuss the requirements of Buddhist pilgrimage groups. Participants emphasised the importance of reliable services, convenient itineraries and better connectivity in supporting tourism across the circuit.
Alongside pilgrimage tourism, discussions highlighted opportunities to promote the historical and cultural heritage of participating destinations. Stakeholders called for coordinated outreach to domestic and international markets, supported by stronger working relationships among tourism businesses across India and Nepal.
The gathering underscored industry interest in a more collaborative approach to Buddhist Circuit tourism. Participants expressed support for regular meetings of this kind to sustain business engagement, improve coordination and encourage tourist movement across the region.
