“A Strong Global Recognition of Maharashtra’s Tourism Potential” – Minister of Tourism, Mr Shambhuraj Desai

On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, a significant step has been taken to showcase the state’s tourism potential on a global platform. An informational advertisement by the Maharashtra Tourism has been prominently displayed at Times Square, New York, United States of America.

The move has been made possible under the guidance of the Honourable Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Honourable Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, with the objective of enhancing Maharashtra’s presence and influence in the global tourism landscape.

“Times Square, one of the world’s busiest and most influential commercial hubs, attracts millions of visitors every day. Establishing Maharashtra’s presence at such a prestigious international venue is a matter of pride for the state”, said Honourable Minister of Tourism Shambhuraj Desai.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr Shamburaj Desai noted that it has come to be seen as a very important step towards showcasing the state’s tourism strengths before an international audience. The move to make Maharashtra Tourism prominent in the globally recognised Times Square would definitely reflect the state’s tourism strength on an international front. This visibility is expected to attract more international tourists and contribute to the state’s economic growth.

The advertisement highlights the rich culture and history of Maharashtra, its majestic forts, scenic spots, beaches, and urban tourism attractions. The world-renowned Times Square is a global centre for tourism, entertainment, business, and advertising. Hence, such visibility will greatly increase the international awareness of Maharashtra’s tourist destinations.

The diverse tourism destinations of Maharashtra have always been attracting global tourists, and hence, this initiative will definitely contribute to the growth of tourism in the state, which, in turn, will benefit its economy and provide job opportunities, Mr Shambhuraj Desai confidently added. Undoubtedly, this marketing campaign by the Maharashtra Tourism will go a long way in promoting the “Incredible Maharashtra” brand globally.
