Ski Mountaineering World Cup Returns to Courchevel in December 2024

Courchevel is set to host the Ski Mountaineering World Cup from December 12 to 15, 2024, marking the event’s return to the Alpine town after ten years. Organized by Courchevel Tourisme, the World Cup will kick off the 2024-2025 season with a series of high-stakes competitions.

The event will feature an Olympic-format Individual Race on December 12, against the breathtaking backdrop of Courchevel’s peaks. The Sprint Event on December 14 serves as the first qualifying race for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, adding significance for athletes vying for a spot. The weekend will close with a Vertical Race on December 15, hosted on the official Millet Ski Touring Courchevel course, signaling the start of the Millet Ski Touring Circuit’s 15th season.

Ski Mountaineering World Cup Returns to Courchevel in December 2024

The Émile Allais slalom stadium, known for its challenging terrain, will serve as the venue, drawing top athletes and ski mountaineering enthusiasts. Emily Harrop, a four-time world champion and Courchevel Sport Outdoor (CSO) licensee, will be a key competitor, eager to leverage her experience on home terrain.
