WTM Ministers’ Summit 2024 to Focus on AI's Role in Tourism

The World Travel Market (WTM) Ministers’ Summit, scheduled for November 6, 2024, will delve into the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies in tourism. This prominent event, held in partnership with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), will see over 50 global tourism leaders gather to explore how these advancements can reshape the industry.

This year’s Summit, moderated by a renowned BBC journalist, will focus on AI’s potential to enhance travel experiences and streamline industry processes, while addressing the ethical concerns surrounding its use. “The Summit represents the largest annual gathering of Tourism Ministers worldwide, crucial for discussing and shaping the future of our industry,” said Juliette Losardo, Exhibition Director of WTM London.

The discussions will also highlight the need for equitable access to AI technologies to bridge socio-economic gaps. Ministers will debate strategies to ensure all stakeholders benefit from these innovations, aligning with priorities in the UN Secretary-General’s report on Science, Technology, and Innovation for sustainable development.

WTTC and UNWTO emphasize the role of AI in offering personalized travel experiences and fostering sector-wide innovation. The event, part of WTM’s TravelPower campaign, underscores the industry’s potential to drive positive change through technological advancements.

WTM London 2024 will be held from November 5-7 at ExCeL London. For registration details, visit WTM London 2024.
