Vietjet has marked two major milestones at Long Thanh International Airport, Vietnam’s largest gateway to the world, once fully completed, with the topping-out ceremony of its international-standard aircraft maintenance facility and the launch of its inaugural flight to the airport. The two events reinforce the airline’s long-term commitment to developing modern, integrated, and sustainable aviation infrastructure that supports growing air connectivity, maintenance capabilities, and regional air travel demand across the Asia-Pacific, including key markets such as India.
Vietjet’s hangar project, which broke ground on August 19, 2025, forms part of the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Centre complex at Long Thanh. Developed on an 8.4-hectare site with a total investment of up to USD 100 million, the facility comprises Hangars No. 3 and No. 4, which were designed, managed, and supervised by leading international consultants Mace (United Kingdom) and Apave (France). Featuring an ultra-long-span steel space structure built to stringent global aviation standards, the hangars will be capable of accommodating up to ten narrow-body aircraft or a combination of narrow- and wide-body aircraft simultaneously once operational.
The successful topping-out of the project, delivered on schedule despite challenging construction conditions, reflects Vietjet’s execution capability, discipline, and strong international collaboration with its partners. The facility is expected to strengthen domestic maintenance capacity, reduce reliance on overseas technical services, optimise operating costs, and create high-quality jobs in Vietnam and the wider region.

On the same day, Vietjet also operated its inaugural flight VJ038 to Long Thanh International Airport from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, using an Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Vietjet has expanded air links between India and Vietnam, offering direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kochi to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest cities. The airline also enables seamless onward connections from Vietnam to key Asia-Pacific destinations, including Japan, China, South Korea, and Australia.
With a modern fleet and an extensive flight network, Vietjet continues to demonstrate its long-term vision, commitment to sustainable investment, and pioneering role of the private sector in developing Vietnam’s aviation infrastructure ecosystem.
