Uttarakhand now opens up for Amazing Adventure Tourism, mountains are calling.
Travel Mail Desk – New Delhi: Amidst the relaxations given to the tourism sector post Unlock 4, the Tourism Department of Uttarakhand has brought great relief to the adventure buffs. Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board today announced the opening up the adventure related activities like Water sports, trekking and mountaineering, aero sports and camping activities for all inbound tourists. The government of Uttarakhand has also issued guidelines for the tourists as well as the adventure agency while conducting the adventure related activities.
As per the new norms, the owner of the adventure company/agency/tour operator has to ensure that their employees undergo a proper training for the prevention of Covid-19 infection. The head of the agency / Adventure Tour Operator shall submit an undertaking in the office of the Department of Tourism and related district administration offices to seek necessary permission to conduct the adventure activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dilip Jawalkar Secretary, Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand said, “Adventure tourism has a major contribution in the overall tourism industry of the state and we are confident that the reopening of adventure activities will benefit the state tourism industry. We expect full cooperation from all the stakeholders. We look forward to working with them as a team in order to ensure effective implementation of rules and guidelines for controlling the spread of the epidemic in the state.”
The head of the agency/ adventure tour operator will have to ensure proper implementation of the requisite health measures like thermal screening, physical distancing, covering of the face by masks/shields and frequent hand washings.
The agency will also ensure the proper sanitization of the equipments used in adventure activities as per the guidelines of MoHF, GoI and state Government after every use. During the activity, if any guest shows symptoms of Covid-19 infection then the agency/tour operator shall immediately inform the healthcare center and encourage the guest for medical consultation.
