The Valley of Flowers opened for Tourists in August and Government of Uttarakhand removed all restrictions for inter-state tourist to boost tourism among travellers and fellow trekkers says Mr. Dilip Jawalkar.

Travel Mail Desk – New Delhi: The Valley of Flowers is a legendary trail the world wants to trek in. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, it happened for the first time in history that this UNESCO World Heritage Site was opened for tourists in the month of August, rather than the usual opening schedule in June. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has been making constant efforts to ensure the safe travel of all the visitors.

Located in the Chamoli district, the Valley of Flowers is exquisitely surrounded by splendid mountain ranges and sparkling glaciers and unfolds the charisma and allure of flora & fauna at its best. Untouched by human incursions, this fairyland is snowy in the winter months and blooms into its magnificent charisma on the arrival of hotter months. During the summer months, the valley casts-off its somnolent nature with an abundance of extravagant flora.

“The Valley of Flowers is one the most exotic treks in India and is none less than the world-famous tulip meadows of Switzerland. Amid the ongoing pandemic, the place was finally opened for tourists from the 1st of August taking all safety measures into consideration. Reportedly, around 15000 tourists visited the valley last year and this year, approx. 700 tourists have visited from the opening day till now. There’s no tentative date as to when the valley will be closed for tourists this year, but as of now it will be opened till the last of October.”

“Apart from this, the Uttarakhand government has now removed all restrictions for the inter-state tourists and the new amendments will bring the much-needed relief for the ailing tourism industry of Uttarkhand. I am sure that our partners associated with the tourism ecosystem will welcome this move and will work along with us to ensure effective implementation of the rules in order to control the spread of the pandemic in the state and bring back the normalcy in the state.”
