As we commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Shri Reddy advised students from all states and universities to attend the National War Memorial, which instils patriotic enthusiasm in everyone.
On February 25, 2019, the Prime Minister opened and dedicated the National War Memorial to the country. Aside from the main Memorial, there is a designated space for Busts of 21 soldiers who have been awarded the ‘Param Vir Chakra,’ the nation’s highest wartime heroism honour. The memorial complex is designed to complement the beautiful Rajpath and Central Vista’s existing layout and symmetry.
The solemnity of the atmosphere is maintained by the landscape and architectural minimalism. The primary memorial’s design symbolises how a soldier’s greatest sacrifice in the line of duty not only renders him immortal but also shows how a soldier’s spirit lives on.
