One&Only Cape Town’s new Resort Manager, Nicholas Solomon, has travelled and worked extensively in Ireland, USA and Seychelles since completing his hospitality studies at Cape Town Hotel School eleven years ago. Mr Nicholas has recently returned to his home town and the team at One&Only Cape Town couldn’t be more delighted.
“I am absolutely delighted to welcome Nick to the One&Only Cape Town team,” says Richard Lyon, General Manager. “His extensive experience in South Africa and abroad makes him a great addition to the team, and I am looking forward to working with him.”
“I’ve worked with some iconic brands in extraordinary locations,” says Nicholas Solomon. “The opportunity to come home to Cape Town to manage this property is beyond thrilling.”
Mr. Nicholas’ experience as General Manager of North Island in the Seychelles and prior to that, as Deputy General Manager at The Royal Portfolio’s La Residence, both afforded Nicholas “incredible experience with their own unique demands”. All of which will no doubt stand him in good stead as he takes up his new position at One&Only Cape Town.
The only authentic urban resort in South Africa, iOne&Only Cape Town’s uniqueness is exactly what makes Mr. Nicholas excited to work there. “One&Only Resorts is not a cookie-cutter group, it caters for people who enjoy a specific lifestyle. Having come back to Cape Town for the same reasons people are choosing to travel here, I know I can offer insight and understanding to their expectations,” comments Mr. Nicholas. “I enjoy One&Only’s approachable style that doesn’t ever lose sight of the fact that guests are the most important component of the experience.”
With a passion for fine tuning already-stellar experiences, Mr. Nicholas is excited about what his future at One&Only Cape Town holds. “I am making it my mission to seriously impress every guest, every single time they set foot in our resort, whether it be their first visit or their 20th – every single guest deserves an incredible experience.”
