IndiGo, India’s preferred airline, has launched triweekly operations connecting North Goa (MOPA) to Abu Dhabi. The inaugural flight took off on September 2, 2023, from MOPA Airport, marking a significant milestone in bridging the gap between these two vibrant destinations. This strategic move by IndiGo aims to enhance global connectivity and cater to the increasing travel demand between Goa and the Middle East.
Connecting Two Destinations
IndiGo has been at the forefront of providing seamless connectivity between various Indian cities and Abu Dhabi, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, and Hyderabad. With the introduction of this new direct route, travellers now have even more options to access the cosmopolitan capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed his enthusiasm about the new route, stating, “We are thrilled to commence operations between the beloved seaside destination of North Goa (Mopa Airport) and the majestic skyscraper-filled city of Abu Dhabi.
In recent years, we have witnessed a growing demand for travel to the UAE, a demand that has only intensified in the post-pandemic era. As India’s largest carrier, we are committed to meeting this demand by connecting these two prominent tourist hubs. With the addition of these flights, IndiGo will now operate 52 flights per week to Abu Dhabi from 8 major cities in India.
This move brings the UAE even closer and complements the flourishing trade and tourism industry.
