The second day of the 13th International Tourism Mart (ITM) 2025 commenced with a comprehensive state presentation session at the Sikkim Armed Police Ground, Pangthang, where representatives from all eight North Eastern states highlighted their tourism strengths, new initiatives, and emerging opportunities.
Senior officials from Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, and Mizoram delivered concise presentations showcasing key attractions, cultural assets, unique experiences, and investment potential.

Sikkim Highlights Key Projects and New Experiences
The host state’s presentation, delivered by Mr. C.S. Rao, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism & Civil Aviation, outlined major tourism attractions, diverse tourism products, and the progress of the state’s mega homestay project. He announced several upcoming initiatives including the Skywalk at Yangyang, transformation of Singshore Bridge into a glass-deck skywalk, Brindhavan Dham at Dodak, Four Pateon Saints at Yuksom, Nathula Border Experience, Gangtok Cultural Village, and an eco-wellness experience at Yuksom.
Arunachal Pradesh Positions Itself as a Distinct Tourism Identity
Arunachal Pradesh’s presentation by Ms. Yashaswini B spotlighted the state’s unique tourism identity as the land receiving the first light of India, its Eastern Himalayan landscapes, and adventure offerings. She highlighted its 23 Indigenous Tribal Communities, distinctive tourism circuits, and new products. Key announcements included the Sustainable Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Policy 2025–2030, Sunrise Festival, innovative experiences, partnership opportunities, and major awards and recognitions received in 2025.
Tripura Announces New Tourism Initiatives
Tripura’s representative, Mr. Uttam K. Chakma, shared updates on new initiatives such as houseboats, a ropeway project, and the promotion of bamboo handicrafts, aimed at strengthening the state’s tourism profile.

Nagaland Promotes Eco, Cultural & Adventure Tourism
Nagaland’s presentation by Mr. Nchumbemo Lotha highlighted the state’s rich cultural heritage, historical legacy, and scenic landscapes. He announced new developments including trekking trails at Kapamodzu and Mt. Pauna, Mini Hornbill Tribal Festivals across all districts, and the promotion of Rural Tourism Villages such as Benreu and Dzuleke, along with new partnership opportunities.
Other State Presentations
Officials from Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, and Mizoram also presented their respective state offerings, focusing on cultural diversity, natural attractions, and emerging tourism products.

Expert Sessions Spotlight NE Products
Following the state presentations, themed product sessions were conducted on wildlife tourism, river cruise trails, cultural festivals, homestays and hospitality, living heritage, and adventure tourism. Presentations were delivered by industry experts including Mr. Sanjay Basu, Ms. Mitra Phukan, Mr. Amit Periwal, Ms. Nirmali Das, and Mr. Ajeet Bajaj.
The sessions were attended by officials from the Ministry of Tourism, State Tourism Departments, industry stakeholders, and invited delegates. Day 2 of ITM 2025 reinforced the collective vision of the North Eastern states to strengthen collaboration, enhance tourism circuits, and promote the region as a unified, high-value destination.
