Ministry Of Tourism participates in FITUR; FITUR is one of the world’s largest international travel exhibitions at Madrid

From January 18 to January 22 in Madrid, the Ministry of Tourism along with Several Indian States participated in FITUR. India’s involvement in FITUR is important for accelerating the return of inbound tourism to pre-pandemic levels.

In order to participate in the Exhibition, the Ministry of Tourism has acquired a space of 253 square metres, and more than 30 other organisations are co-exhibiting with the India Pavilion. The King and Queen of Spain graced the opening of the India Pavilion, which was also officially opened by His Excellency Mr. Dinesh K. Patnaik, Indian Ambassador to Spain, Mr. Mohammed Riyas, Kerala’s Minister of Tourism, and Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma, Additional Secretary, Government of India’s Ministry of Tourism. The India Pavilion was officially inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was followed by Indian cultural performances and yoga sessions.

Following the opening, the Indian delegation and attendees visited the booths of the many participating states and tour operators at the India Pavilion, which was organised by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC). Incredible India held a number of cultural performances, yoga sessions, mehndi and Bollywood dance performances throughout the day.

Leading representatives from Melia Hotels International, Palladium Hotel Group, Expedia Group, World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Cushman & Wakefield, and the Indo-Spanish Chambers of Commerce met with the Indian delegation, which was led by Mr Rakesh Kumar Verma, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, in important business encounters.

Investment potential in the Indian tourist and hospitality sectors was discussed in these events, which were organised by the Ministry of Tourism’s dedicated Industry Development & Investment Promotion (IDIP) Division, run by Invest India. In accordance with India’s G20 Presidency, the leadership of these organisations was also formally invited to attend the first Global Tourism Investors’ Summit, which will be held in New Delhi between April 10 and April 12, 2023.
