Mauritius interested to celebrate Gita Jayanti Mahotsav in their country: Haryana Tourism Minister

[dropcap]C[/dropcap]handigarh: Haryana Tourism Minister, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma said that Mauritius has requested the Haryana Government to celebrate Gita Jayanti Mahotsav in their country also so that their citizens could also get to know the culture of India.
Mr. Sharma was speaking in a function organised on the occasion of completion of four years of the tenure of the present State Government.
He said that the Gita Jayanti Mahotsav being organised in Kurukshetra has been appreciated in the entire world. Tourists from all across the globe participate in this Mahotsav, he added.
He said that the pilgrimages located around 48 Kos of Kurukshetra are being developed and soon 48 Kos Parikrama would be started there on the pattern of Govardhan Parikrama. He said that during last four years, the possibilities in the field of tourism in the state have increased considerably. Madhogarh and Mahendragarh Fort in South Haryana have been developed as popular tourist spots.
The Minister said that world famous Crafts Mela is organised at Surajkund in Faridabad from February 1 to 15 every year. In view of the increasing interests of the people, the duration of this Mela is being increased from 15 days to 17 days, he added.
