Focus on Kashi-Ujjain connectivity and new tourism circuit.
The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board participated in the India Travel Mart (ITM), held from 17th to 19th October at Deendayal Hastkala Sankul, Varanasi. Five key stakeholders from Madhya Pradesh’s tourism sector were also part of the event, which proved to be a significant platform for promoting tourism between Madhya Pradesh and other states.
During the event, various aspects of tourism were discussed, with a special focus on improving connectivity between tourist destinations both within and beyond the state.
M.P. Principal Secretary and Managing Director of Government, Tourism and Culture Department, M.P. Tourism Board Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla said, “We are committed to taking the tourism sector in Madhya Pradesh to new heights at the national and international level. Our participation in events like India Travel Mart provides an opportunity to highlight our tourism products and facilities. Both the states are culturally and spiritually rich. Mahakal Express has done an important job of directly connecting Kashi and Ujjain so that now passengers can visit Indore and Omkareshwar from Ujjain. This will encourage religious tourism and make connectivity within the state even easier.“
Introduction of a new tourist circuit
Two major circuits have been prepared with the aim of promoting tourism between Madhya Pradesh and Varanasi. In this, tourists can visit Varanasi – Sanjay Dubri – Maihar – Rewa – Mukundpur – Chitrakoot or from Varanasi to Orchha – Khajuraho – Panna – Chitrakoot via road. Through the said circuits, travellers will experience religious, cultural and natural tourism, which will also boost interstate tourism. Foreign tourists will also be able to choose the travel route to Prayagraj and Varanasi via Gwalior, Orchha, Khajuraho, Panna, and Rewa.
Connectivity will increase from Rewa Airport
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan, air connectivity is continuously improving in the state. The airport in Rewa will be inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 21st October. Due to this, air connectivity in this region will get a new strength. Will get it.
Principal Secretary Shri Shukla said, “With the inauguration of Rewa Airport, travel between the tourist areas of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will become more easy and accessible. This will prove to be an important step in the development of inter-state tourism circuit for both the states.”
