A modern virtual reality experience, labelled ‘ We live in an air ocean,’ highlights the hidden link between plant and human is revealed through the breath. Amit Aggarwal felt how each frame of the body was unique and framework in the air we breathe. Bringing the marvellous human and plant anatomical architecture to light. LUMEN’ is the celebration of the distinctive light that makes us the people we are.

Amit Aggarwal has long endeavoured to bring in a new age of Indian bridal couture and establishing a distinct identity by engineering in innovative designs inspired by nature’s awe-inspiring forms; while effortlessly combining our country’s rich textile heritage and our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Based on this experience, our couture 2019 collection’ LUMEN’ draws its inspiration from the organic structures of the human body that exchange unseen energy through an overlay of frame, fluidity and shape. With our recycled polymer understructures, the frame of the garment is formed, the fluidity emerges through an illusionary motion of textiles, which create forms that are revived by complex motifs and brotherhoods.

A series of weightless gossamer tulle lace, organzas are meticulously hand-sticked and created with structural frameworks to bio-mimic the details.

This collection blends an opaque colour with its metallic tone and iridescent shade, making each shade into a superfluous stream of energy. In neutral gold, blush, silver and ivory, an eclectic blend of neon tones passes a vibrant joy colour palette of emeralds, petroleum, lilac and plum. Transparency, opacity and reflection show the response of the colours and the flow of light through each colour of the collection.

The collection of women’s clothing features traditional Indian silhouettes combining western clothing ideologies. Carved Edwardian busts give an edge to the bridal lehenga, whereas the sare signature of the brand is dramatically reinvented.

The menswear collection produces strong tailoring with a touch of layering in classic styles. Ceremonial Indian silhouettes are restored with new, three-dimensional self-made embroidery crafted from current industrial products, as well as Jacquards, silks and geometric hand-woven textiles. Draping layers, colour blocking through textiles and emphasizing it with complex craftsmanship have improved the clothing.

In line with our collection idea. His work’ The Ocean Within’ reflects the play of ocean waves and sunlight. The installation’s gravity forces and geometry combine to enable the job to dance in the air as it pirouettes and whirls above us.

For Couture 2019, Ketan and Jatin Chokshi collaborated with Narayan Jewellers. Their bridal collection features designs inspired by nature’s beauty, striking a fascinating balance between form and function. Their jewellery exhibits complex craftsmanship with a perfect synergy between modernity and tradition.

In cooperation with Dyuti Bansal, our couture collection was teamed up with footwear. Together, we developed a footwear collection that portrays geometry and architecture. The method produces an inter-dimensional web with a metallic and Ombre colour scheme that blends nicely with Amit Aggarwal’s couture collection.
