Kerala Literature Festival is Asia’s Second Largest Festival

The Kozhikode beaches will host the sixth annual Kerala Literature Festival (KLF 2023) from January 12 to January 15, 2023. The Arabian Sea’s 4-day celebration, originally slated for January 2022, was moved to January 2023 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The DC Kizhakemuri Foundation hosts the Kerala Literature Festival, funded by the Keralan government.

KLF is Asia’s second-largest festival of its kind, fusing the finest of literary and popular cultures, with an overall attendance of more than 3 lakhs. One of the most well-known literary festivals on the subcontinent, it draws together people from various origins and interests by bringing together authors, artists, actors, celebrities, intellectuals, and activists.

Over 400 Speakers

With more than 400 speakers, the sixth edition promises to be a spectacular event. Among them is well-known author Jeffrey Archer, Nobel laureates Abhijit Banerjee and Ada Yonath, Piyush Pande, Francesc Miralles, Geethanjali Shree, Wendy Doniger, Ramachandra Guha, Palanivel Thiagarajan, Sanjeev Sanyal, Anand Neelakantan, Shashi Tharo.

K. Sachidanandan, a writer and president of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, is again in charge of organizing the festival. The Chief Patron is Kerala Tourism Minister PM Muhammad Riyaz, the Patron and Municipal Corporation Chairperson is former MLA Pradeep Kumar, the Chairperson of the Organizational Committee is Beena Philip, and the Chief Facilitator is Ravi Deecee.

The sessions at KLF aim to map literature through discussions on aspects of science and technology, art, cinema, politics, music, environment, literature, pandemic and their effects, business and entrepreneurship, health, art & leisure, travel & tourism, gender, economy, culture genomics, history & politics, and various elements that influence human consciousness.

Nobel Laureates, Jnanpith Winners, Oscar Winners, Booker Prize Recipients, Literary Icons, Film & Theatre Personalities, Performers & Artists, Designers, Media Personalities, Sports Icons, Diplomats, and famous people from various backgrounds are among the distinguished speakers.
