ITC's Nakul Anand Receives Hall of Fame Award on International Hospitality Day 2023

Nakul Anand, the Executive Director of ITC, has been honoured with the prestigious Hall of Fame Award at the Global Hospitality Awards 2023. The awards ceremony was held on International Hospitality Day (IHD) on April 24, 2023. The event was organized by the International Hospitality Council, in collaboration with the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), under the mentorship of Dr. Suborno Bose.

The virtual event was attended by industry experts and speakers from across the world, who participated in various sessions on hospitality. They discussed sustainable practices, innovation and the future of the hospitality industry. Dr. Bose, the CEO of IIHM Hotel School Worldwide, opened the event by highlighting the importance of sustainability in the hospitality industry. He also unveiled his new book, The Art of Sustainable Hospitality, which offers a comprehensive guide to sustainable hospitality practices.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor David Foskett MBE, Chairman of the International Hospitality Council, London. He shared his thoughts on how the hospitality industry is transforming and becoming future-ready. The event also had special speakers such as Megna Shankaranarayanan, Industry Head, Travel & Food Tech, APAC, Google, and celebrity chefs Sanjeev Kapoor and Ranveer Brar, who shared their insights and experiences on making the hospitality industry more sustainable.

The ceremony also honoured other luminaries in the hospitality industry. Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to K.B. Kachru, Camellia Punjabi, Chef Chris Galvin, Christopher Crowdray, Geoffrey Harrison, M.S. Gill, Peter Jones MBE, Rajiv Kaul, Sally Beck and Chef Steve Munkley. The Hospitality Honors List 2023 featured Russell Bateman, Aditya Ghosh, Anil Chadha, and Anita Mendiratta. Anuraag Bhatnagar, Arjun Singh Oberoi, Asma Khan, Atul Kochhar, Deepak Ohri, Harshvardhan Neotia, Imtiaz Qureshi, Jyoti Mayal, Jyotsna Suri, Manish Mehrotra, Priya Paul, Rajeev Samant, Ranju Alex, and many others.

However, the highlight of the event was the presentation of the Hall of Fame Award to Nakul Anand for his invaluable contributions to the hospitality industry. Mr. Anand has transformed ITC Hotels into a pro-sustainability green hotel chain with his ‘Responsible Luxury’ initiative. He has rewritten the rules of global hospitality and set a new benchmark for the industry to follow.

Dr. Bose, who felicitated Mr. Anand, recognized his commitment to excellence and his contributions to the hospitality industry. The Hall of Fame Award is a well-deserved recognition for Mr. Anand’s leadership, vision, and innovative practices that have made a significant impact on the hospitality industry.
