Meet Pierre Charbonneau: Vice President of Events and Commercial Services

With an illustrious 35-year career in aviation, Pierre Charbonneau assumes the role of Vice President of Events and Commercial Services at ACI World. Charbonneau brings to the table a wealth of experience in enhancing commercial effectiveness and elevating customer experience through global collaboration.

Charbonneau’s journey in aviation commenced at Air Canada in 1988, where he honed his skills in managing passenger experience, international operations, and commercial alliances over two decades. His tenure at CATSA, where he oversaw screening operations in Eastern Canada, further solidified his expertise in operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

During his tenure at IATA from 2015 to 2021, Charbonneau spearheaded passenger experience initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to enhancing the traveller journey. His role at Aéroports de Montréal involved directing service delivery and regulatory compliance for major airports, showcasing his ability to navigate complex operational landscapes.

As an Industrial Engineer graduate from Ecole Polytechnique de l’Université de Montréal, Charbonneau possesses a unique blend of technical acumen and strategic vision, making him an invaluable asset to ACI World’s leadership team.

Introducing Darryl Dowd: Vice President of Safety, Security, and Operations

Darryl Dowd assumes the role of Vice President of Safety, Security, and Operations at ACI World, succeeding Thomas Romig, after close to four remarkable years of dedicated service. Dowd brings over 20 years of extensive experience in aviation, coupled with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and fostering strategic partnerships.

Dowd’s tenure at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority saw him transition from operational roles to crafting successful hub strategies for Toronto Pearson International Airport. His contributions at the Winnipeg Airports Authority were marked by pioneering initiatives, including establishing Canada’s first ISO 9001-certified airport operations centre and enhancing accessibility for passengers with disabilities.

As the former COO at Southport Aerospace Centre Inc., Dowd led initiatives towards achieving net zero emissions by 2035, underscoring his commitment to environmental sustainability. His expertise in digital transformation and cybersecurity further reinforces ACI World’s strategic focus on harnessing technology to optimize airport operations.
