India bags Gold and Silver at International Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2023.
India has made its mark in the global tourism industry again by winning the prestigious Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2023 in Berlin. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, received both the Golden and Silver Star in the ‘TV/Cinema Commercials International and Country International’ category. The awards were presented to Shri Arvind Singh, Secretary (Tourism) Government of India on 8th March 2023, during the ITB Berlin 2023, which took place from the 7th to 9th March 2023.
The Golden City Gate Tourism Multi-media Awards, held annually, honour outstanding contributions in various categories related to the tourism and hospitality sectors. The ‘Golden City Gate’ is a highly competitive, international competition for countries, cities, regions, and hotels. An international jury comprising film and tourism experts judges the entries received for the awards. The annual award ceremony takes place at ITB Berlin, the world’s leading tourism trade show.
The promotional films and television commercials produced by the Ministry as part of its Post-Covid Promotional Global Campaign on India’s reopening won the Golden and Silver Stars. The Ministry of Tourism has developed new Incredible India brand films to welcome foreign tourists to the country after the pandemic. These brand films have been widely circulated within the domestic and international travel industry for broader usage in promotional and marketing purposes.
The films, produced in English with voice-overs in nine international languages, namely German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic, were also widely promoted through the Ministry’s social media handles, which have received overwhelming responses worldwide.
