A Strategic Vision for the Future

Mr. Chander Mansharamani: Driving Innovation and Inclusivity

Mr. Chander Mansharamani, Vice-Chairperson of ICPB, shared his vision for restructuring the bureau’s operations to align more closely with international standards. He highlighted that in many countries, similar bureaus receive substantial government support for both operational expenses and financial backing for conference organizers, particularly when bidding for international conferences.

He emphasised the need for a more aggressive strategy to promote India as a top MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination. This involves close collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, to enhance ICPB’s presence at international trade fairs, secure financial support for roadshows within India and abroad, and allocate a separate advertising budget focused specifically on the MICE sector.

“Our goal is to transform ICPB into a truly pan-India organization that reaches every region of the country, engaging more regional players in the MICE industry,” he stated. “By expanding our membership base nationwide, we’re paving the way for a stronger, unified approach. This strategy will ensure that ICPB’s initiatives are inclusive and reflect the diversity and energy of India’s MICE sector.”

Mr. Sudeep Sarcar: Elevating Operational Excellence

Mr. Sudeep Sarcar, associated with ICPB over the last two decades and the recently appointed Honorary Secretary of ICPB, brings a wealth of experience spanning the convention, exhibition, events, and entertainment industries. With a background that includes managing a national award-winning venue and organising events of national importance like Bharat Tex, Bharat Mobility and Bharat Food, Mr. Sarcar is poised to lead ICPB’s strategic growth with a focus on enhancing India’s stature as a premier MICE destination.

“My vision for ICPB is to make it an independent, robust secretariat that can function independently with the advice of a diverse board and stakeholders across the MICE sector,” he stated. “By aligning closely with government policies and engaging in proactive consultation, we aim to elevate India’s position on the global MICE ranking. ICPB’s strength lies in its members’ deep industry expertise, and together, we are committed to creating a collaborative platform that fosters innovation, inclusivity, and sustained growth,” he adds.

Mr. Amit Saroj: Ensuring Financial Stability and Growth

“Aligning with the vision outlined by the new Chairperson at the AGM, we are confident of raising the bar of India’s positioning on the global landscape and strengthening the resources at ICPB to drive new initiatives, attracting International Association Meetings,” shared Mr. Amit Saroj.

Strategic Goals for India’s MICE Sector

ICPB’s new leadership is committed to implementing initiatives that will boost India’s appeal as a MICE destination. Their primary goals include:

  • Boosting International Visibility: Participation in high-profile trade fairs and events to showcase India’s capabilities as a world-class venue for conferences and exhibitions.
  • Enhancing Domestic Collaboration: Engaging regional players to build a unified, nationwide MICE network. By fostering regional representation, ICPB aims to promote inclusivity and diverse perspectives.
  • Advancing Infrastructure Development: Advocating for improved venues, technological advancements, and streamlined visa processes to make India more competitive in the global market.
  • Securing Government Support: Collaborating with policymakers to ensure financial backing for promotional activities and bidding processes. This includes proposing budget allocations specifically for MICE promotion.

ICPB’s Role in Shaping India’s Global Image

As a leading organization in the MICE sector, ICPB plays a pivotal role in shaping India’s reputation as a preferred destination for international events. With a renewed focus on innovation, inclusivity, and strategic partnerships, the bureau is set to unlock new opportunities for the industry.

The new leadership team’s efforts will undoubtedly position India as a frontrunner in the global MICE landscape, leveraging the country’s cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and economic potential to attract high-profile international conferences and exhibitions.
