Haryana and UP decided to encourage Tourism and Promote Cultural Exchange between the two states

[dropcap]C[/dropcap]handigarh: Haryana and UP have decided to encourage tourism and promote cultural exchange between the two states. Cultural troupes from UP would now participate in the annual Pinjore Heritage Festival.
This was decided at a high level meeting held between the Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr D.S. Dhesi, and UP Chief Secretary, Mr. Rajiv Kumar, in New Delhi.
Mr Rajiv Kumar said the issue regarding renovation and development of Chaurasi Kos Parikrama road falling in Haryana’s Braj area was also discussed at length.
Discussion was also held on ensuring adequate irrigation water availability in Agra Canal and also about maintenance of the canal and its various irrigation channels. Besides, excise related issues, pending cases related to various land and revenue of farmers of both states were also discussed at the meeting.
Those present from Haryana included Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Mr. Vijay Vardhan, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Excise and Taxation Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, Divisional Commissioner of Ambala, Mr. Vivek Joshi, Divisional Commissioner, Faridabad, Mrs G. Anupama, Principal Secretary, Irrigation, Mr Anurag Rastogi, Director General, Cultural Affairs, Mr. Sameer Pal Sarow.
The officials of UP present included Principal Secretary, Taxation Department, Mrs Kalpana Awasthi, Secretary, Revenue Department, Mr Sanjay, Secretary, Commissioner, Meerut, Mr Prabhat Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Mr Rishtesh, and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Noida, Mr Vineet ,were also present.
