Finnair updates its traffic programme for winter 2024 and summer 2025 – adds weekly frequencies to Japan and Dallas; opens a new route to Kirkenes, Norway

Enhancements to Japan Routes
In a strategic move aimed at strengthening its presence in the Asian market, Finnair has announced an expansion of its services to Japan. Commencing in the summer of 2025, Finnair will increase its frequency to Tokyo, Japan, offering daily flights to both Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo Narita airports. This significant increase in flight frequency underscores Finnair’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for travel between Finland and Japan.
Furthermore, Finnair will introduce a third weekly frequency to Nagoya, providing passengers with even more options for seamless travel between Finland and Japan. These enhancements will not only facilitate greater connectivity but also ensure that passengers enjoy unparalleled convenience and flexibility when planning their journeys to and from Japan.
Introduction of Kirkenes, Norway Route
In a move that underscores its dedication to exploring new frontiers, Finnair will introduce a captivating destination in Northern Norway: the charming town of Kirkenes. Set to commence operations in the summer of 2025, the route to Kirkenes will be operated with a 68-seater ATR aircraft, offering passengers a unique and unforgettable travel experience.
The flights to Kirkenes will operate from Helsinki via Ivalo three times a week, providing travellers with convenient access to both Finnish Lapland and Northern Norway. This new route is poised to cater to the growing demand for Arctic travel experiences, allowing passengers to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Northern Norway.
Expansion in the Baltic Region
Recognizing the importance of the Baltic region as a key market, Finnair has announced plans to increase frequencies to Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius for the summer of 2025. Tallinn and Riga will each receive five additional weekly frequencies, while Vilnius will see an increase of two additional weekly frequencies. These enhancements will not only strengthen Finnair’s presence in the Baltic region but also provide passengers with enhanced connectivity and greater travel options.
Year-round Service to Dallas
In a bid to meet the growing demand for travel between Europe and the United States, Finnair has updated its winter 2024 traffic programme to include additional frequencies to Dallas. Starting from winter 2024 onwards, Finnair will offer daily flights to Dallas, providing passengers with seamless connections to American Airlines’ extensive network out of their Dallas hub. This year-round service to Dallas underscores Finnair’s commitment to providing passengers with unparalleled convenience and flexibility when travelling between Europe and the United States.
