Etihad Introduces A380 to Mumbai: Celebrating 20 Years with Luxury

Etihad Airways, the UAE’s flagship carrier, is commemorating two decades of service to Mumbai by deploying its iconic Airbus A380 on the route. From September 1 to December 31, 2024, the double-decker aircraft will operate three weekly flights between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Mumbai (BOM), offering an elevated travel experience.

Since its inaugural flight to Mumbai on September 26, 2004, Etihad has expanded its Indian network to 11 cities, underscoring its commitment to connecting Indian travelers with Abu Dhabi and beyond. This A380 deployment is a special highlight in celebrating Etihad’s long-standing relationship with India.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, stated, “To mark 20 years of service to Mumbai and India, we are thrilled to introduce our A380 on this route. Typically reserved for long-haul journeys, the A380 will enhance the travel experience on Mumbai flights for four months.”

In addition to the A380’s deployment, Etihad has launched a Hindi website and continues its engagement through cricket sponsorship and Bollywood partnerships. Special A380-themed fares are available until August 25, 2024, including return tickets from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai at AED 8,380 for First Class and AED 2,380 for Business Class.

Key Features of the A380 Experience:

  • Economy: Enhanced comfort with 68 Economy Extra legroom seats and 337 Economy Smart Seats.
  • Business: 70 private suites on the upper deck, featuring Wi-Fi and The Lobby lounge.
  • First Class: Luxurious suites with designer amenities and a shower room.

Etihad plans to add its sixth A380 to the fleet by early 2025, further expanding its premium offerings.
