On 12 August, BBC Player on Prime Video Channels will debut “Great Indian Railway Journeys,” a four-part series that offers a captivating look at India’s iconic railway network. Hosted by British broadcaster and railway enthusiast Michael Portillo, the series promises to take viewers on a spectacular journey across India’s diverse landscapes and vibrant cultures.

From the bustling streets of Delhi to the serene backwaters of Kerala, and the snowy Himalayas to the golden sands of Rajasthan, Portillo’s travels showcase the rich tapestry of Indian life. The series also delves into India’s royal heritage, with Portillo exploring magnificent palaces and the luxurious lifestyles of the maharajas, offering a glimpse into the country’s imperial history.

BBC Player brings ‘Great Indian Railway Journeys’ on Prime Video

The show highlights the technological achievements of Indian Railways, from vintage locomotives to modern high-speed trains, illustrating the nation’s progress and innovation.
