AirAsia Launches Port Blair to Kuala Lumpur Route, Strengthens India-Malaysia Connectivity

AirAsia Becomes First Airline to Fly Direct from Port Blair to Kuala Lumpur

AirAsia is set to further solidify its position as the largest air connectivity provider between India and Malaysia with the introduction of a new route from Port Blair to Kuala Lumpur. Starting on November 16, 2024, AirAsia will operate three weekly flights, making it the first and only airline in ASEAN to offer direct international flights to and from Port Blair.

This new route marks AirAsia’s 17th route from India, complementing its extensive network that already includes 97 weekly flights from cities like Amritsar and Chennai. The airline’s expansion in 2024 has seen the launch of 10 new routes to Malaysia and Thailand, including Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, and Kozhikode.

Kuala Lumpur, located in Southeast Malaysia, is a popular destination for Indian travelers, known for its vibrant mix of historical landmarks, modern skyscrapers, and renowned street food. The city also serves as a gateway to over 130 destinations within AirAsia’s extensive network.

To celebrate the launch, AirAsia is offering promotional fares starting at INR 4,999 one-way from Port Blair to Kuala Lumpur. These fares can be booked via the AirAsia MOVE app or airasia.com until August 25, 2024, for travel between November 16, 2024, and October 8, 2025. Indian citizens can enjoy visa-free entry to Malaysia for up to 30 days until June 30, 2025.
