Mumbai: Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines and Tourism New Zealand have recently held a trade training session in Mumbai, focusing on new promotional initiatives and resources designed to assist the agents in becoming New Zealand specialists.
More than 130 agents attended the session in Mumbai.
At the session, Air New Zealand introduced its new Multistop fare which takes advantage of the national carrier’s strong domestic New Zealand network of more than 20 destinations to provide a more convenient and flexible itinerary to customers who are travelling on the Air New Zealand-Singapore Airline alliance to New Zealand.
The fare allows for one free stopover in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as the international port of arrival or departure, along with two additional stopovers in each direction of travel within New Zealand for just INR 4,320.
During the session, Tourism New Zealand introduced its travel trade website and the array of resources and webinars available to agents. It also highlighted the appeal of self-drive tours to explore the best of New Zealand and included tips on self-driving options.
Air New Zealand Regional General Manager, Asia, Scott Carr says the airline remains committed to training and engaging with key partners and travel agents in India as part of its efforts to continue growing and expanding the India market.
“With a steady rise of more than 12.3 percent in Indian arrivals in New Zealand for the year ending August 2016, this is an exciting time for Air New Zealand in our strategy to drive growth in this emerging market.”
Speaking about the training, Steven Dixon, Regional Manager, Tourism New Zealand South and SOUTH-EAST Asia said, “India is one of our key source markets and having a well-informed travel trade always helps to convert interest into bookings. With the new travel trade website and the recently created driver safety videos and information, it will be easier for agents to increase bookings for the destination.”
The agents were also briefed on Singapore Airlines’ range of seats offerings on board the flights to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
“New Zealand is emerging as a popular destination for Indian travellers. Working closely with our destination partner – Tourism New Zealand and code share partner – Air New Zealand; we are keen to provide seamless connections to its key gateways. Our local travel and trade partners continue to learn all that New Zealand has to offer directly from the destination experts; ensuring that Indian travellers can maximise on their travel itineraries,” said David Lim, General Manager India, Singapore Airlines.
Air New Zealand’s alliance and code share services with Singapore Airlines currently connects customers from 11 Indian cities on Singapore Airlines and Silk Air services to Singapore. From there customers can access three non-stop flights a day between Singapore and New Zealand (Auckland and Christchurch) and four times a week to Wellington.
