Air India Express Gets Connectivity with New Guwahati-Jaipur Route
Air India Express has significantly expanded its domestic network with the launch of six new daily direct flights on August 12, 2024. The new routes include direct connections from Chennai to Bhubaneswar, Bagdogra, and Thiruvananthapuram; Kolkata to Varanasi and Guwahati; and a new direct flight between Guwahati and Jaipur.
This expansion introduces five new routes to the airline’s network, enhancing connectivity across India. Notably, the Guwahati-Jaipur route is a unique addition, exclusively served by Air India Express. The Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route, previously operating twice a week, now benefits from a daily service, increasing the weekly frequency to nine flights.
Air India Express now offers a comprehensive domestic network from its major hubs. From Chennai, travelers can reach ten domestic destinations and enjoy connections to international locations such as Dammam, Kuwait, and Singapore. Similarly, Kolkata sees 124 weekly flights to 34 destinations, while Thiruvananthapuram is linked to 12 direct destinations and 23 one-stop options.
Guwahati and Varanasi also benefit from the expansion, with new direct connections and increased frequencies. “These new flights cater to the growing demand and enhance our connectivity across key regions,” said an Air India Express spokesperson. The airline continues to strengthen its position as a major player in India’s domestic aviation sector.
