HINDUSTHAN 2.0 to Spotlight Uttarakhand's Vision of Becoming a Global Tourism and Destination Wedding Hub

Uttarakhand is set to take another significant step towards strengthening its position as a global tourism and destination wedding destination with the HINDUSTHAN 2.0 – National Chintan Shivir & Expo, scheduled for July 15–16, 2026, at PunarNava Wellness Resort, Dehradun. The two-day national conclave will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Organised under the theme “Wed in Uttarakhand,” the event will serve as a strategic platform to explore new opportunities for tourism-led economic growth while positioning the Himalayan state as one of India’s most sought-after destinations for weddings, wellness, and experiential travel.

The conclave will bring together policymakers, tourism professionals, destination wedding planners, hospitality leaders, event specialists, hotel and resort operators, spiritual leaders, and travel industry stakeholders from across the country to discuss strategies for enhancing Uttarakhand’s tourism potential.

Discussions will focus on strengthening key tourism segments, including religious and spiritual tourism, wellness retreats, rural tourism, nature-based experiences, and adventure travel, alongside promoting destination weddings as a major growth driver. Industry experts will deliberate on policy initiatives, infrastructure development, sustainable tourism practices, and collaborative efforts required to attract both domestic and international travellers.

A key feature of the event will be the ‘Doon Declaration’, which will include the “Chalo Gaon Ki Ore” initiative aimed at promoting tourism-driven rural development. The initiative seeks to integrate homestays, organic farming, local handicrafts, folk art, and traditional cuisine into the tourism ecosystem, creating new livelihood opportunities while supporting the revival of migration-affected villages.

On July 15, a dedicated session titled “Wed in Uttarakhand” will focus on developing a comprehensive roadmap to position the state as a leading destination wedding hub at both national and international levels. The discussions are expected to identify opportunities for investment, destination branding, improved infrastructure, and stronger partnerships across the wedding and hospitality sectors.

The conclave will conclude on July 16 with the BITA Awards 2026, honouring individuals and organisations for their outstanding contributions to the tourism, hospitality, and wedding industries.

According to the organisers, HINDUSTHAN 2.0 aims to go beyond industry dialogue by creating actionable strategies that will accelerate tourism-led development, attract investment, generate employment, and strengthen Uttarakhand’s rural economy, further reinforcing the state’s vision of becoming a globally competitive tourism destination.
