Tamil Nadu Travel Expo 2024 to Boost State's Tourism Potential

Tamil Nadu Travel Expo 2024 will promote Tamil Nadu by showcasing relevant themes like Heritage and Spiritual Tourism, Medical and wellness tourism and also to position Tamil Nadu as a Destination Wedding

Tamil Nadu is set to host the first-ever Tamil Nadu Travel Expo (TTE) in Madurai from September 20 to 22, 2024. Organized by Travel Club Madurai, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and South India Hotels and Restaurants Association (SIHRA), this event aims to boost tourism in the state by showcasing its diverse offerings.

The expo, supported by both state and central tourism departments, will feature over 150 stakeholders from various sectors, including heritage tourism, medical and wellness tourism, and destination wedding planning. Approximately 250 buyers, including tour operators and travel influencers from India and neighboring countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, are expected to attend.

Key figures in the tourism industry, such as T Nataraajan, Honorary Secretary of SIHRA, and Vikram Cotah, Chairman of the Tourism Task Force of CII, are leading the event’s organization. Cotah emphasized the expo’s role in promoting Tamil Nadu’s unique attractions, stating, “We expect the B2B marketplace to create opportunities to market Tamil Nadu as a tourism destination.”

The expo will also feature knowledge-sharing sessions and a gala awards night, with post-event tours planned to showcase the state’s rich cultural and natural heritage. The final day, September 22, will be open to the public to further promote Tamil Nadu’s tourism themes.
